Early H&R Model 999 Sportsman 1st Model Double Action Top-Break Revolver, #D5957, .22 LR cal., 9-shot fluted cylinder, 6" round barrel with full-length rib, blue finish, checkered walnut oversize one-piece grip, pinned Patridge front sight, adjustable square-notch rear sight, finger rest trigger guard, with frame mounted firing pin. Mfgd circa 1932-33. Revolver is in near fine overall condition, retaining approx. 92%-93% factory blue, with some edgewear, scattered scratches, marks from handling and use. There is also some light corrosion around edge of the recoil shield. Grips are in good condition, with smoothing of the checkering, indentations, and the base painted red. Action functions smoothly and locks up securely. Bore is very good with clearly defined rifling. Early production models used the "D" prefix until 1933 to denote double action. Est.: $250-$400. (C&R)
